What should I do if I owe money to the tax office?

If you owe taxes, you must pay the outstanding amount to the appropriate tax office before the filing deadline. For most individuals, the annual deadline to file your federal income tax return and pay any taxes owed is April 15th.

If you find that you owe additional taxes when filing your return, there are several payment options available. You can pay by check, bank transfer, or use a credit or debit card.

If you choose to pay by check or money order, you may need to prepare a payment voucher and mail it to the IRS. Sprintax will provide you with the completed form if you select this payment method. Detailed instructions on your chosen payment method will be provided.

Warning: It's important to note that the IRS may impose penalties for both failing to file your tax return and failing to pay any taxes owed by the deadline. Therefore, it is crucial to settle any amounts due with the tax office on time.
