What is the difference between the State only module and the Full module?
The following table compares the two modules.
| Module | What Sprintax prepares | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| State only | The state tax return only. | A taxpayer who already prepared the federal Form 1040-NR with another service and has it ready. |
| Full | The federal tax return (Form 1040-NR) and the state tax return. | A taxpayer who wants Sprintax to prepare both returns. |
How do I switch from the State only module to the Full module?
Follow these steps to file both a federal and a state tax return with Sprintax:
Log out of your Sprintax account.
Clear the cache and cookies of your browser.
Log back in through the Sprintax login page for the State only to the full Federal & State module here.
Will my State only details transfer to the Full module?
The details from the State only module are unlikely to transfer to the Full module. You must enter them again. Have your income documents, your passport, and your travel dates ready before you start.
Which module do I use if I have not prepared a federal return?
Use the Full module. The State only module needs a completed federal Form 1040-NR, because it asks for details from that return. Without a federal return, the State only module cannot prepare your state return.
