If you owe money, you have two option on how to pay the liability:
- Send a check/money order when mailing the Federal/State tax return;
- Pay via Credit or Debit Card through the IRS/state's official website.
Please remember that if you are E-Filing your tax return, you will need to make any payments via Credit Card or Debit Card through the IRS/state’s official website, you cannot pay via check/money order because you would need to attach it along with the completed tax return when mailing the documents. You cannot mail just the check.
Also, please note that you must NOT send cash when mailing your tax return. Please always use one of the above options only.
