What quantity should I select for my income documents in Sprintax?

Generally, if you have received multiple copies of the same income document from the same employer, reporting the same income, you should only use one copy of the document. Do not combine them as you will duplicate your income.

For example, your employer might provide you with four W-2 copies: One for your personal records, one for Federal filing purposes and two for State filing purposes. All these 4 copies are considered as the same income document and you should select the quantity of that document as one.

Your employer may provide you with three W-2 copies. One for your personal records, one for your Federal tax return and one for your State tax return. You should not report all of them and you should select the quantity of that document as one.

Important: If you have worked for more than one employer, you must report that income as well.

Info: If you are reporting your 1099-B you should select the quantity to be the same amount of transactions you have. However, you can also clump transactions for one stock together. For example all transactions for Apple can be included in one 1099-B in Sprintax, as long as they are made during the tax year.
